A little bit about Bee & Beework Web Design.

My Story.

Beework web design was founded by Bee McNamara. My passion for technology started in the late 90's when working with people with learning difficulties. Many of the people attending the day centre where I worked were unable to read and yet were given text timetables that they found difficult to understand. I took it upon myself to find a way to create pictorial timetables that would help them know which groups to attend each day and to this end I learnt to code in Visual Basic. This enabled me to develop an application that quickly and easily created pictorial timetables and was used from then on by the day centre. Seeing what was possible with coding sparked a passion in me to learn more.

After completing a computer graphics course and learning how to code for web design I went on to work as a web developer for the Environment Agency where I created a number of applications to help educate around the subject of environmental outcomes. At this time I also started to design and build websites in my spare time for friends, small businesses and organisations. I specialised in creating sites that could be managed by the users themselves through content management systems, this was long before the likes of WordPress had even been thought of. As orders for my work started to build I first went part time and then left employment to fully concentrate on my own work.

Today, several hundred completed website builds later, Beework web design continues to go from strength to strength.
